I May Not Pass This Way Again

Today we got TC and I cried. I cried for all the heartache that happened on our way here and I cried for the heartache yet to come. I cried because there was really a time that I believed that Avah would and could not be my daughter. When Mary Anne from Dillon called me with my travel call today she asked me (as I was sobbing) "did you not think it was going to happen?". In the deepest part of my heart I answered her, "no", I didn't. More tears and more relief. I know she understood.

The adoption process. . . summed up as awesome. I highly recommend it;) So many highs you can hardly breath and so many lows you can hardly grasp. I love this process and I am in a way glad that it was long and drawn out because I really got to become immersed in it and it is glorious!

This adoption process has given me the gift of time. Not time for me to get things done (God knows I have not been productive) but time for us to surrender to God and to put our full faith and trust into Him. For me to be there for my sister as we stand, united as always, but this time in the battle of our Ella's leukemia. Ryan needed time to learn what it feels like to be "fired" from a horrible job and then months later experience a new job with more success than we thought possible. I needed time to explore a new career choice and actually get a new certification in the medical field. Our family needed time to see the miracles that were occuring within our family and the support from our family and friends was humbling throughout Ryan's job loss experience. There were dark days when Avah almost didn't become our daughter. Ryan and I desparately needed the time to make a plan so that we could still bring her home. We were successful. She is coming home, all in the right time. We thank God that we had time.

In closing, I would like to remember a song that we used to sing when I was little. "I May Not Pass This Way Again". It reminds me of our last adoption experience. Especially the lines, "come along stranger come along friend, I may not pass this way again". Thank you to all my family and friends for your support. Many of you who walked this journey with me were my long time friends but many of you were strangers. Thank you for coming along with me. This is our last adoption and as I said before, it was glorious.

I'm off to find that journey's end
and I may not pass this way again
So let's go run the ridges, mister
Let's go find the rainbow' s sister
Come along stranger, come along friend
I may not pass this way again

That was beautiful!! What a great way to look at this process! I will admit at times during our waiting process together I had thought how patient and calm you were. You are such a wonderful example! Praying for a smooth transition!:):)
